In 2019, Marleine Chedraoui applied to the open call of an artists' association to which she belongs for an exhibition in the associated project space. The title of the exhibition was to be „Café konstitutiv“. The concept was that during the exhibition, interested members of the artists' association could use the exhibition space e.g. to show any type of artistic works created by themselves or those of other artists and/or to initiate a programme. The exhibition space was to encourage visitors to linger, so there should be seating, drinks and snacks on offer. How and in what form these amenities were provided was also up to the participating members. Both the opening hours and the changing events of the exhibition space depend on the activation by the members.
The project was not selected by the jury of members of the artists' association and thus not realised. Building on this, Marleine Chedraoui created the work Relics Of The Unrealised Café konstitutiv, an outdoor light box with the inscription "Café konstitutiv."
